Fishing: Quebec Fishing

June 21st, 2008

Planning a Quebec fishing trip can be fun for the whole family. What I love most about Quebec is the old European feel to many of its cities and villages. It makes me feel like Im wandering around Europe without the hassle of flying across the Atlantic. And the Quebec region has so much to offer. It is sure to please the entire family.

Quebec fishing trips have become so popular over the years that there are over 400 outfitters to help you plan your trip and select lodging. Quebec has 21 wildlife reserves and 62 harvesting zones. The wildlife reserves are also a great place to camp, canoe, and hunt moose and deer, too.

The best part about Quebec fishing is that it can be enjoyed year round. Ice fishing is extremely popular in this region. Once the ice is thick enough, ice huts begin to dot the shoreline of the frozen lakes. Many of these shacks are available for rent. Ice fishing will catch any number of fish from walleyes and trout to perch and pike.

Wherever we decide to fish, we always make sure to spend a few nights in Montreal. This city has so much to offer. From exciting nightlife to fantastic shopping, our time spent in Montreal is always enjoyed by all. After days of fishing, its nice to relax with a stroll through the Old Montreal or a leisurely hike up Mount Royal.
